SanSoleil Tops. A Review

Keeping cool while riding can be an impossible task when its 95 degrees outside with 100% humidity. But wearing the proper apparel can help aid your body in cooling itself more efficiently and protect you from the sun’s harmful rays. I have to say, I had no clue what a “sun shirt” was until I saw tons of riders walking around in these long sleeved 1/4 zips and was seriously concerned about their clothing choice. Little did I know, these amazing shirts are meant for summer weather!

If you are like me and are new to the concept of a sun shirt, let me give you a short run down of all the amazing things a sun shirt offers. SanSoleil sun shirts were originally created for summer golf outings to protect your arms from the sun’s harsh rays. SanSoleil sun shirts are made with a light weight, moisture wicking fabric and contains UPF 50 protection. UPF is the ability of the fabric to protect from the sun’s UV rays- 50 being the highest rating of protection. The shirts also feature soft mesh vents along the length of the underarm, which is a key area to keep cool while working in the summer heat. Equestrians quickly caught on to these beautiful inventions and are now extremely popular. Now I am naturally a fair-skinned gal, which means that I get a sunburn very quickly in the summer. Like within ten minutes quick. So I tested out my new SanSoleil sun shirt. In my honest opinion, I believe this sun shirt helped me stay cooler, cool down quicker and without a doubt kept my arms from getting sunburned. I know this because my legs most definitely DID get a sunburn. I think this shirt would also be great for lessons, trail rides or schooling during the summer.Overall, I would completely recommend this shirt to any equestrian. I’m 5’6 and I have a small. If you prefer a looser fit, size up.I hope you give sun shirts a try from here. www.SanSoleil.com
